Have you ever rowed a long boat? Rowing a long boat is fun and hard work. You learn the meanings of the rowing commands, teamwork, and safety too.
Team Work
Rowing a long boat takes team work, so you want to encourage your partner by saying good job or you can do it. I encouraged my partner by saying something we used in class. “Eat the corn,” also, “You hate the corn” and lastly “The corn makes you sick.”
Rowing Commands
If you don't know the rowing commands you'll learn them. They may seem complicated to some people and simple to others. But don't worry, you get the hang of it sooner or later if it’s confusing to you.
Rowboat Safety
If you ever get to row a long boat out into the bay, it is very exciting but can be dangerous. That’s why you wear a safety vest. A safety vest helps you stay up if you fall out of the boat. When it’s high tide, you really want to be careful because, you’re not wearing a safety vest, you might drown if you fall in.
All in all, rowing a long boat has it’s ups and it’s downs, but it’s still very fun.
